Herb Care And Herb Markers

Posted on 28th July 2011 in Gardening

Growing great herbs is one of the easiest of all gardening options.  Even those who have not been able to successfully grow flowers and vegetables should be able to grow herbs with no problem.  They can be grown both indoors and outdoors, and require only minimal care.

There are many different types of herbs, and herb markers should be used to separate and identify each variety.  Some herbs have a distinctive look or scent, and others do not.  Unless you are an expert grower, chances are that you will not be able to differentiate between the herbs without herb markers in place.

Though herbs tend to be hearty plants, they will require sunlight and water.  When these two things are supplied in the proper amounts, herbs will flourish.  To ensure that your plants are getting what they need, it is important to read about the requirements of each.  This is yet another area where herb markers are important.  Being able to properly identify each herb is the key to providing what they need to thrive.

Herbs can be grown organically if you wish.  This is easiest to accomplish by growing them indoors, as inside the home they will not be exposed to pests.  It is possible to grow organic herbs outdoors as well, but should pests present a problem, natural pest control methods will need to be used.  Some pests naturally avoid herbs, as the scent is not pleasing to them.  However, there are a few pests that are drawn to herbs.

Planting and maintaining herbs is quite easy.  The only requirements are seeds, great soil, plant markers, and water.  Herbs grow quickly, and it will not be long before you are able to use them in your dishes.  It’s a great feeling to taste a dish that was made with herbs that you grew yourself.
